The Morning Pages-Rebound

Regarding the painty pages from a previous post…

Since I had blogged about the fun I had painting my morning pages journal, I thought I ought to rebind the pages back into the cover and start using it, rather than let the colorful pages continue to collect dust.

This was somewhat more complicated than I had anticipated. I wanted to hand stitch into the original holes, but they were a bit hard to locate through the paint. Also, something that I didn’t take into consideration is that the size of the pages vary depending on the order they were originally bound into the notebook. And I had intentionally tried to mix up the pages during the painting process. Ooops.

My resulting text block had a very uneven, ugly front edge. Fixing this required slightly more effort. I didn’t really want the pages in the exact order, so I just tried to loosely sort them according to their size, which worked well enough.

For my next journal, I think I might try numbering the pages before I start painting them. Something to keep in mind if YOU want to reassemble a composition notebook!

And, yes! Maybe I DO need more gel pens!

  1. Flattering, indeed. What FB group would that be?
I myself think my blog content is a little lacking so far…or is your page about how NOT to do a blog?
